“The nets were overflowing In the Gulf of Mexico” An updated version of my 2025 [Gulf of Mexico scarf][1] inspired by “Refuge of the Roads” by Joni Mitchell. This version has an i-cord edging. The pattern is fully written out with no charts. Techniques include the backwards loop CO, multiple increases, and a centered double decrease. Knit on 5mm/US8 needles with approximately 60g/280yds/260m of leftover lengths of Schoppel Wolle Zauberball Crazy; colorways include Change of Scenery, Dark Roses, Cool Botanical Garden and Late Autumn. The scarf is worked with two strands held together. If you are working with one strand of a heavier yarn, allow approximately 140yds/130m.
