Notes from the Designer:
In the Victorian language of flowers, daffodils were chosen to send a message of new beginnings — a gentle promise that light returns and that growth often starts quietly. Rooted in that tradition and with each hexagon framing a simple daffodil bloom, Message echoes the way hope often unfolds in real life: quietly, gradually, and in its own good time.
Just as flowers once carried messages between people, our stitches do the same today. Every project we knit — whether kept close or given with love — speaks through the time and care we place in it. My hope is that Message becomes your soft note to the world that renewal can start anywhere, even here, even now, even with a single stitch.
* Click [here][8] to watch a video
showing how to work Rounds 1 - 7 of
the full hexagon motif, and learn more
about our [2026 Secret Language of
Flowers Knit and Read Along][9].
* Sample used approximately 920 yds /
841 m total: Colors A – I: 85 yds / 78
m each and Color J: 155 yds / 142 m.
* Each full motif uses approximately 100
yds / 91 m total with about 85 yds /
78 m for the motif colors and 15 yds /
14 m for the border color.
* Full hexagon motifs are worked in the
round from the center out.
* When reading charts in the round,
read every round from right to left
on the RS.
* Begin each full motif on DPNs, and
then switch to circular needles as
needed.
* The stitch pattern is charted for one
petal repeat and is worked six times
per full motif. Stitch markers between
repeats can help maintain accuracy.
* Half-hexagon motifs are worked flat.
* When reading charts flat, read RS rows
right to left and WS rows left to
right. On WS rows, knit the purls, and
purl the knits.
* Half-hexagon motifs use three repeats
with one additional stitch along the
edge for the border.
* Blanket size can be customized by
adding or removing motifs.
*Designed by Carolyn Currier*
