These Neon Checkers Socks are worked from the cuff down in stranded colourwork, featuring an easy but fun checkered motif that’s both graphic and fun to knit. The short-row garter stitch heel adds texture and contrast while keeping things simple and comfortable to wear. These socks are worked in two shades, a bright neon and a neutral pink in my case, making this pair an ideal project for playing with colour combinations. **MATERIALS** ***Yarn:*** * 1 (1, 1) skein of 4-ply Merino Sock by Botanical Yarn; one skein of MC, colorway Candyfluff (dusty pink). * 1 (1, 1) skein of 4-ply Merino Sock by Botanical Yarn; one skein of CC, colourway Monarda (neon pink). Approx. 270 (300, 330) yds / 250 (275, 300) m of fingering weight yarn in MC and 150 (170, 190) yds / 140 (155, 175) m in CC. ***Needles:*** US 1½ (2.5 mm) and US 0 (2 mm) dpns or circular needles, if you are using magic loop technique for small circumference knitting. **SIZING** 1 (2, 3) ***Finished Circumference of the Foot and of the Leg of the Sock:*** 7 (8, 9)” / 18 (20, 22) cm. Choose a size with 0-1” (0-2.5 cm) of negative ease. **GAUGE** 34 sts and 42 rounds = 4” (10 cm) in Stockinette stitch colourwork, using larger needles, after blocking.
