Pari is a Jumper, designed and created using yummilicious Berroco Vintage DK for a newborn baby born in a municipal corporation government hospital to a poor Indian lady. In Hindi, Pari means Fairy! The Front piece and Back piece of the Main Body are worked flat on straight needles, bottom up, till the Top. Then the sleeves are worked flat on straight needles. Next the tops of the Back and Front right shoulder are sewn and joined using mattress stitch. Then the top part of the right sleeve is sewn to the opening of the right and front parts. Next the edges of the right sleeve are sewn, beginning from the cast on edge of the Cuff, till the armhole, and in continuation, the edge of the right sides of the Body are sewn to join the Front & the Back right part, till the cast on edge of the Border of the Main Body. The edges of the left sleeve are sewn till the armhole, and in continuation the sides of the left Front & Back Body are sewn, similar to the right sides. Only then is the Left sleeve sewn into the top opening of the Back & Front of the left side. The Left shoulder is not sewn because the Flap made on the Left Front Shoulder, gives extra room for the infant’s head to be inserted in the jumper easily. Lastly 2 small buttons are sewn onto the Left Shoulder of the Back part of the Body, which easily go into the Flap made on the Left Front Body part. Flat small shirt buttons work well for this purpose. The combination of cables with stockinette stitch is magical! This jumper works up extremely fast. Size: 0 – 3 months.
