The inflorescence messenger bag is a cargo style bag with lots of compartments outside the bag. The name is derived from its flower family Compositae/Asteraceae where what appears to be a single flower is actually a collection of smaller flowers called florets. Because these flowers are also called composite/inflorescence flowers, they’re described as flowers with lots of “compartments.” PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS A DIGITAL PDF CROCHET PATTERN & NOT A PHYSICAL ITEM. THIS PATTERN FEATURES: - Written & photo instructions on how to make the bag + video instructions on how to make certain stitches. - Written & photo instructions on how to line your bag. - A variety of embellishments you may add to your bag include flowers, clovers, stars & bows. - Instructions on how to make an adjustable + non-adjustable strap if you prefer that. - A tester lookbook so you can have a good idea of how much yarn to use based on the bag size you want + inspo on how you might want to decorate your bag c: ADDITIONAL NOTES: - The pattern is written in English using US crochet terminology. - Skills: Basic crochet stitches, basic tunisian crochet, the magic loop, seaming, and some sewing if you choose to make lining. - Level: Recommended for advanced beginners and up! You should know basic crochet terminology and be comfortable making basic stitches (e.g., double crochet, single crochet) before trying out this project! MATERIALS: - Recommended yarn: Worsted weight yarn (size 4). For reference, I used We Love Yarn’s Recycled Cotton in the colors sand (04) - 600g/900m & dark green (15) - 100g/150m. Yarn used for the embellishments total up to about 25g/37.5m. - Recommended hook size: 4.5mm hook or any hook that matches the gauge + a 4mm hook for embellishments. - Tape measure, scissors, yarn needle & stitch markers. - Sliding bag buckles (one with a bar and one without a bar). The size I used is 50mm but you may use a different size. - 14mm magnetic snaps (5 total - one for each pocket + 1 for the front opening of the bag) - For lining: about 1 yard of fabric.
