**About** The Sendero Socks are knit cuff down and feature a 2x2 ribbed cuff, a variety of textured stitches, and a contrasting cuff, heel, and toe. The afterthought heel is constructed using waste yarn to keep stitches live, which are later picked up, shaped with decreases, and grafted together. The toe is shaped by working evenly spaced decreases for a rounded shape, finished by pulling through with the yarn tail. This pattern was knit using a combination of 23 cm / 9 in circular needles and DPNs, but your preferred small-circumference method may be used (magic loop, DPNs, 23 cm / 9 in circulars, or any other method). **Sizes** XS (S, M, L, XL) The Sendero Socks are designed to fit a foot circumference of 17–19 (19.5–21, 20.5–23, 23.5–25, 26–28) cm / 6½–7½ (7¾–8¼, 8–9, 9¼–10, 10–11) in, with a slight negative ease. The leg and foot length can be easily adjusted as needed. The sample was knit in size M to fit a US women’s size 8 foot with a 22 cm / 8½ in circumference. **Materials** Knit Picks Stroll Tweed. 65% Fine Superwash Merino Wool, 25% Nylon, 10% Donegal Tweed. 231 yards (approx. 211 meters) per 50g skein. MC: Approximately 150–160 (160–170, 170–180, 185–200, 200–215) yards / approx. 137–146 (146–155, 155–165, 169–183, 183–197) meters of any fingering weight sock yarn of your choosing. CC: Approximately 80–85 (85–90, 90–95, 95–100, 100–105) yards / approx. 73–78 (78–82, 82–87, 87–91, 91–96) meters of any fingering weight sock yarn of your choosing. The sample was knit using Knit Picks Stroll Tweed in the colorway Down Heather for the main color, and Knit Picks Stroll in the colorway Rainstorm Heather for the contrasting color. The sample used approx. 176 yards / approx. 161 meters of MC and approx. 92 yards / approx. 84 meters of CC for size M. Keep in mind that your yardage/meterage will vary if you add length to the leg and foot of the sock. A yarn with at least 25% nylon is recommended to ensure durability, particularly at the heel and toe. **Gauge and Needles** Gauge: 32 sts x 52 rnds = 10 cm (4 in) in the chart pattern using 2.5mm (US 1.5) needles. Needles: 2.25mm (US 1) circular 23 cm (9 in) needles for ribbing, 2.5mm (US 1.5) 23 cm (9 in) needles for leg and foot, 2.5mm (US 1.5) double-pointed needles (DPNs) for heel and toe.
