The pattern is also available for free to all members of paid tiers [on my Patreon page][1]. Wusai comes from Ukrainian and means “the one with whiskers”. It is a richly textured design that, in addition to knits and purls, incorporates other simple techniques such as slipped stitches and three-stitch cables. The hat is worked bottom-up in the round and features four distinct textured sections: two narrow panels that meet at the top and are joined with a three-needle bind-off, and two wider panels that gradually disappear during the crown shaping. The sizes differ in the width of the narrow panels. You can take a closer look at my sample and
discover the design process in episode 49
of [my podcast on YouTube][2]. **Sizes** --------- The pattern is written for three sizes 1 (2, 3)
 with a finished unstretched circumference of ca. 47 (51, 55) cm // 18.25 (20, 21.75) in.
 Please note, it’s the measurement of the finished hat, not your head circumference. The sample is shown in size 1
on a 54 cm (21.25 in) head circumference. For more of the finished hat measurements, please refer to the schematic provided. **Yarn** -------- **3 strands of lace weight yarn held together:**
 ca. 76 (84, 92) g or 2 skeins of Baby Yak Lace
from Myak, 100% Baby Yak with 350 m (383 yds)
in 50 g, shown in Mustard;
 or ca. 532 (585, 644) m // 582 (640, 704) yds of any other lace weight yarn plied together to matched the gauge; or **a single strand of DK weight yarn:**
 ca. 80 (88, 97) g or 2 skeins of Baby Yak Medium
from Myak, 100% Baby Yak with 117 m (128 yds)
in 50 g, shown in Mustard;
