Heir of Dog Days 6

Hearken back to the halcyon days of 2019: I was working on a series called [Dog Days][1]. My ambition with this was to create a series of simple, relatively easy-to-knit projects, with the intention of developing several interesting shapes I could then return to later on, and use them as the foundational pieces of more complex designs. I did not do this, however; I’m not sure I’m even—doing it now. All that being said, Heir of Dog Days 3 is a shallow triangle scarf; the increases and decreases and the way they’re applied keeps the garter stitch ridging on the diagonal, and the fabric is reversible. The diagonal ridging isvisible in a solid color, but will show off a striped or tonal yarn really well. Buttons finish it off, and result in a scarf that adds hardware along with the woolen texture—but these are pretty easily omitted if you find them too much. **Materials**: * 250-260 yards of soft dk-weight wool; sample shown in Knitpicks Merino DK bare, about a full skein * 1 24"+ circular needle in US4-6/3.75-4.0mm, or size needed for gauge, used to work flat * Tapestry needle for weaving in ends * 3 buttons, ⅝-⅞" * optional/as required: sewing needle, thread for buttons **Gauge**: Gauge is 18 sts and 28 rows over 4"/10cm, in blocked garter stitch, worked flat. Please be sure to check your gauge. **Measurements:** This scarf, as written, measures about 61"/1.55m long by 10.25"/26cm deep at its deepest point.
