Oree Shawl

Oree Shoth is blind but she can see the colours of magic. No-nonsense and stubborn, she's my favourite character in *Broken Kingdoms.* The colours in Hawthorne reminded me of the descriptions of magic in N.K. Jemisin's books and this shawl was the result. One skein of yarn will get you a decent scarflette, while two will give you enough for a wrap. Hawthorne plumps up beautifully in the washer and dryer, making this one of the easiest yarns to block. **Large:** Hawthorne Sport Multi, 500 yards, 4.25mm hook **Small:** Hawthorne Fingering, 300 yards, 3.75mm hook Exact gauge is unimportant for this pattern.
