Difficulty: Intermediate **INFORMATION** The Amber Bonnet is a beautifully shaped, comfortable piece that’s worked flat from the top down. Starting at the crown, you cast on and knit a smooth, even section that forms the base of the bonnet. Then, stitches are gently picked up on both sides to shape the head (see chart for reference). After two setup rows, the textured pattern begins — growing gradually as you knit down toward the neckline. Near the front edge, a small decrease gives the bonnet its perfect fit and soft contour. To finish, pick up stitches along the face opening and knit 2 cm in a 1x1 rib for a neat, flexible edge. Close the stitches using the Italian bind-off for a polished, seamless look. The ties are created separately: cast on 12 stitches, knit them in pattern to your desired length, then attach them to the bonnet and finish with the Italian bind-off. This pattern gives you freedom to use any yarn that matches the approximate gauge. The result is a cozy, elegant bonnet that looks beautiful on everyone — simple to make, timeless to wear.
