This easy, top down, raglan sleeve design will elevate your fall/winter wardrobe while showcasing your mad knitting skills! The stranded, colorwork sleeves are oversized to add an artisan element to this simple sweater, and the color combos are endless. I added a few short rows to the back and kept the body boxy for a better fit, and finished the sleeves with wide, chunky ribbing to showcase the dramatic colorwork. For the prototype I used a beautifully dyed chunky Merino wool in a two color combo that channels the pumpkin spice latte aesthetic, but both brights and neutrals will work wonderfully if you make sure there’s enough contrast between the two colors you choose. Bonus points: You can try this sweater on as you go, so you can get the fit just right for your personal style, and the length can be as long as you like. The sweater is knit in the round from the top down, starting at the ribbed neck opening. German short rows and raglan increases are created until you reach the placement of the sleeves which are placed on hold while the body is worked down to the bottom rib. Each sleeve is then picked up and knit in the round with stranded, charted colorwork, and oversized ribbed cuffs.
