Advent Hat 2025

Welcome to my Advent hat for 2025. This will be a different sort of Advent adventure, but one that I think you will enjoy knitting. I’m calling the hat an inside outside hat, or a hat within a hat or two hats for the price of one. I’m sure you all know what style of hat we will be knitting. The hat will be knit in two stages, although the first stage is being released in two parts. If you are reading this introduction, then the first stage has officially started in my group [Zemy's Deck][1]The hat will start at the crown and increase until the circumference/total stitch count fits your head. This stage will be knit in simple striped patterning known as Waltz 1,2,3. The second stage will start on December 1st and will be stranded knitting of Fair Isle motifs. The pattern will be free from November 18 until December 26, 2025 with the coupon code **LICHEN** On December 26, the pattern is taken down for formatting into one pattern. Once it is back on ravelry it will be available for a fee. **Yarn:** 2 fingering weight yarns with good contrast for the first stage, 5- 7 colours for the stranded stage. My first half weighs approximately 50 grams so scraps of 25 – 30 grams would work well. **Needles:** Dpns and same gauge needle for working small circumference in the round: 2.75mm (US#2) for striped side 3mm (US#2.5) for stranded side **Gauge:** 8sts to the inch, 10 rows to the inch **Sizes:** small 20 inch circumference, medium 22 inch, large 24 inch (160 sts, 176 sts, 192 sts) Please note the coupon code above.
