Little Edie Bonnet

This is a vintage-inspired bonnet pattern worked up on an aran weight yarn(s) in stockinette and 2x2 rib. It’s designed to fit loosely and comfortably around the face, and to either tie in a bow under the chin or be wrapped around the neck like a scarf. You will work the back panel of the bonnet first, working in stockinette then decreasing to shape the crown. Then you’ll pick up stitches all around the back piece to knit the main body of the bonnet, working in stockinette then finishing with 5cm of ribbing. Lastly, you’ll work the bottom ribbing and ribbons of the bonnet. Gauge 10cm = 22 stitches x 28 rows on 4mm needles Recommended yarn:  100g Drops Air  OR 80g of Lang Jawoll held together with 50g Drops Brushed Alpaca silk  OR 120g Wool and the Gang, The One Merino  Materials:  4mm circular needles on 60cm cable (or whichever size you need to meet gauge)  Tapestry needle measurements: width (from from mid back of head to end of front ribbing):22cm depth (from top of bonnet to end of bottom ribbing, at tallest point): 33cm length of ribbons: option A/shorter: 33cm Option B/longer: 40cm
