Boston Blizzards Hood- Knit Version

**Description** The Boston Blizzards Hood is an oversized (almost) seamless hood accessory with a built-in gaiter and a cute overlapping front detail designed to keep you cozy during even the frostiest New England winters. The gauge and yarn weight are flexible for a thicker denser fabric or an airy accessory for the transition between seasons. You start by knitting the top panel, then picking up stitches along the edge and kitting down the sides of the hood (either back and forth or in the round to be steeked) . Before you connect and cross the base, stitches are picked up around the frame of the face to create a folded over ribbed edge. Once the front edge is done, the front can be connected and stitches are picked up to knit the gaiter inside-out and flipped back into the body of the hood. The hood is finished with ribbing for the neck. **Level & Techniques** Pattern is classified as intermediate due to construction. Techniques required include knits, purls, increases, decreases, picking up stitches, traditional bindoff, tubular bind off, backward loop cast on (optional), provisional cast on (optional), and steeking (optional). **Yarn** Type: Heavy DK-ish weight (approx 200-250m/100g) Yardage: Approx 350m/380yd or 200g.
