Happy Halloween critter knitters! Or, whatever season you're in I hope it's a happy one, because spiders are a year round delight.
This hat is knit bottom up, with a few rows of half twisted rib before you begin on the chart. I think this is the perfect time to practice your ladderback jacquard technique because it will be a few rows before you get to stranding. After you finish the hat body, you can optionally knit a little spider to dangle from the top.
**Pay what you want pricing**
Due to the incredible support I have received for my patterns, I am exploring some options for adding "pay what you want" features to my smaller patterns.
This pattern is originally $10. That is a little higher than most of my accessories because of the included spider, and the additional sizes.
**To get this pattern for $7:** 7spidersplease
**To get this pattern for $5:** 5spidersplease
**To get this pattern for free:** freethespiders
Thanks so much for supporting my work, I am so excited that I get to use this medium to talk about the diversity and delights of the arthropod world.
If the coupon code does not work, please let me know. I am unable to apply a coupon code post-purchase and will not offer refunds for accidental purchases, thank you for understanding!
**When you buy a pattern from me, you are helping to support my work as a scientist**! That's just the truth. The money I make from these patterns is fed directly into more science and scientific outreach- from purchasing supplies for activities at outreach events, to getting more yarn for more bug patterns, to gas for my field vehicle, to cages and plants for my aphids. I am always happy to talk about my research and answer bug questions, so reach out if you would like to learn more about it.
