TOT Hat

The TOT Tunisian Hat is designed in grey colour to raise awareness to brain cancer in honour of my grandfather. The hat features 2 separate sections: folded ribbing and cabled body with right and left leaning cables worked over 6 stitches. It would make an amazing introduction to Tunisian crochet cables for an adventurous beginner! Skills required Chain (ch), Tunisian crochet technique (alternating forward (FP) and return (RP) passes), Tunisian purl stitch (tps), Tunisian knit stitch (tks), Cable 6 back (C6B), Cable 6 front (C6F), Tss bind off (Tss BO), Locking Mattress Stitch, blocking. Finished measurements The final hat measurements (blocked): Size adult 51 cm (20”) circumference x 33 cm (13”) long (ribbing not folded) Materials and tools We Crochet Swish (100% Superwash Merino Wool | DK weight | 50 g (1.6 oz) = 112 m (123 yds)), (#24956) Dove Heather 3 skeins Other yarn alternatives: Please always swatch when substituting yarn: YARNSMITHS: Merino DK Superwash VALLEY YARNS: Valley Superwash DK US size 5.5 mm (I/9) Tunisian crochet hook with 25.5 cm (10”) cable US size 6.0 mm (J/10) Tunisian crochet hook or size to obtain the gauge Cable needle Tapestry needle Scissors Medium size pompom Notes The hat is worked flat from right to left and bottom to top. Number of loops on hook equals number of stitches for counting. Ribbing is worked first using larger hook.
