Dragons everywhere

Use this pattern to practise the dragon scale stitch (also known as crocodile stitch). Starting with five rows of scales, although you could add more, a section of trebles is worked for the hand, then finished with a crochet rib. Worked flat using DK yarn, you could also use this as a scrap buster, working each row of scales in a different colour. Downloads include the mitt pattern (UK or US terms) and a dragon scale crochet technique sheet (left and right handed versions, UK terms). **Yarn**: 70 (80, 90, 100) g DK weight yarn, 180-240 m / 196-263 yds per 100 g Shown in: World of Wool Distilled; DK; 50% Shetland wool, 50% Tweed blend; 90 m / 98 yds per 50 g; colourway – Firewater. **Hook**: 3.5 mm / E-4 crochet hook, or size to achieve gauge. **Notions**: Tapestry needle for sewing up and weaving in ends. **Skills**: Foundation chain, trebles, slip stitch, dragon scale/crocodile stitch, front and back post crochet. **Gauge**: 20 stitches and 11 rows over 10 cm / 4” in trebles after light blocking. **Sizing**: The mitts have a circumference of 17.5 (20.5, 23, 26) cm / 6 ⅞ (8, 9 ⅛, 10 ¼)” and a length of 19 cm / 7 ½”.
