Fern Sweater

The Fern Sweater is worked seamlessly from the neckline down in the round. Raglan increases are used to shape the yoke until the underarm is reached, with additional rows worked on the back to raise the back neck for a more comfortable fit. The front and back are then joined and knitted together in the round to the hem. Sleeves are worked in the round to the desired length. The pattern is mainly written, and the chart only shows a small portion (the repeat section) not the full piece. Gauge (With 4 mm needle): -19 sts x 30 rows = 10 x 10cm / 4 x 4” in stockinette stitch after blocking. (The stockinette gauge is provided for knitters to make a swatch and to use it as a guideline when selecting yarn) -19 sts x 29 rows = 10 x 10cm / 4 x 4” in pattern after blocking. (The gauge mentioned here is based on my finished garment's body circumference and the total number of stitches) Recommended ease: 5~20cm / 2~8’’ Size: 1 (2, 3, 4)(5, 6, 7, 8) My sample is knitted in Size 1 with 16cm/6.5“ of positive ease. Note: The blue version of my sample was made in size 3 using [De Rerum Natura Ulysse][1] (Color: Baleine Breuer), 6 skeins in total (1110m). For other sizes, please estimate your yarn requirement according to the total amount above. Since the same needle size was used, all the related measurements are about the same as written in the pattern. Needles: 4 mm (US 6) for the body and sleeves; 3.5 mm (US 4) for the neckline, the hem and cuffs. Use circular needles ranging from 40 to 120 cm according to the requirements of each section; DPNs or preferred needles (Magic Loop) for small circumference knitting.
