Poet cowl

The Poet Cowl is a versatile and elegant accessory, showcasing the same flowing lace pattern found in my Poet and Poetry designs. Its bias construction gives it a beautiful drape, and the airy fabric makes it light yet warm. The cowl can be styled in many ways: wear it draped softly around the neck for an effortless look, tucked neatly under a coat for extra coziness, or pulled up higher to shield from the cold. Its lace texture adds a delicate touch whether layered over a dress, blouse, or knitwear. The cowl is knitted flat on the bias, beginning at the corner of the back neck and increasing gradually to full width. The lace motif is fully charted to flow seamlessly with the shaping. The edges are worked in a slipped-stitch technique that mimics the look of i-cord edging, and the small seam at the back neck is finished with an invisible mattress stitch. For best results and to highlight the lace, I recommend choosing solid or gently tonal colorways. The cowl is designed to be knit with one strand of fingering-weight yarn held together with a strand of silk mohair. Alternatively, it can also be worked with a single strand of DK-weight yarn.
