The design was inspired by the Global Sumud Flotilla, a movement of brave civilians sailing from around the world to Gaza to bring aid and break the seige. This boat (especially the watermelon adaptation) was designed in solidarity with the flotilla and, more importantly, with Palestine. This pattern was made using DK yarn and a 2.75mm crochet hook. This small boat works up to be 3 inches wide in DK yarn. You can use any other yarn with a relevant hook, but the sizing will vary with the weight of the yarn.
