My Crochet Kitchen: Crown Prince Pumpkin

Growing pumpkins is one of my highlights of the Summer – and harvesting them in Autumn is even better! This handsome **Crown Prince** is not only delicious to eat, but looks stunning in the house too. I love the addition of the vine leaf here for decorating – it’s not something that lasts well in real life, but they are always beautiful when fresh. This is an **easy intermediate** pattern that’s **quick to make**, but wonderfully effective. It’s worked in **continuous rounds**, shaped and then the leaf and stem are crocheted flat separately before attaching. For the main pumpkin, you’ll work with **2 coloured yarns held double**. This gives the pumpkin some **natural colour variation**, but also means it **works up twice as fast** since it’s on the larger side.
