They have no seams on the sole, as the sole is knitted first and then the stitches are picked up to create the rest of the bootie (toe and shaft). The loop with the i-cord ensures they're not so easy to take off, while also adding a special touch beyond the garter stitch. They're a quick and easy project for the little ones in the house or to add that special touch to a baby. Sizes available: 0-3 / 3-6 / 6-9 / 9-12 mo **YARN** 1 skein of Baby Cotton from DMC (50g/ 106m / 115yds) Composition: 100% cotton and DK weight yarn. **GAUGE:** * Stitch pattern: garter stitch knitted flat. * Gauge (10cm / 4”) after blocking: 21.5 stitches and 43 rows (3.5 mm / US 4 knitting needles) **KNITTING NEEDLES:** * Circular 3.5mm / US 4 knitting needles (circular works best for the beginning of the project if you don’t want to use double pointed needles). * Cable that is long enough to make fake “magic loop” (since we are knitting flat) in order to knit more comfortably certain parts of the pattern.
