Radha Earrings

‘Radha Earrings’ is my crochet earrings design inspired by the Indian “Goddess Radha”. She is the consort of "God Krishna", the eighth avatar of "God Vishnu" in Hinduism. I just kept picturing these delicate and heavenly earrings on her when I made it and felt compelled to name it after her. These pair of pretty, ethnic earrings represents a part of the beautiful Indian culture to which I belong. The top portion of the earrings looks like conch shells and the bottom looks like a wheel or a Sudarshan Chakra laden with rays of beads. I made these earrings a while ago, even had its pattern drafted out. However, something was missing. I felt, it needed something extra. I kept imagining it with beads or embellishments or something. But until I could figure it out, I had to keep it aside. All of a sudden, I picked up the incomplete pieces and Viola! Some beading and sewing started happening on its own with my hands. After the piece was finished, I looked at it with a smile on my face and instantly pictured the ever-beautiful Radha adorned with these ornamental earrings.
