>This pattern includes a second PDF version that is formatted for knitters with low vision. It has black text, size 22 or larger text in a sans serif font, no italics, no columns, and fully-written directions. The chart is still included but is not needed to work the pattern. Many thanks to Gemma Thompson (gemmabelle here on Rav) and the Accessible Patterns group for their guidance in formatting patterns in a more accessible way.
“Aspect ratio” refers to the ratio of an image’s width to its height. When taking photos, it’s helpful to think about the aspect ratio of your final image because that will affect your image composition. A square image will need to be set up differently compared to an image that is taller than it is wide or wider than it is tall.
When I photograph socks, I almost always think of the image as a 4:3 aspect ratio and compose the photo accordingly. That’s because socks are tall and narrow, so they’re particularly well suited to vertical photos.
The Aspect Ratio Socks are knit from the cuff down and graded to five sizes. A heel flap and gusset provide an adjustable fit, while the socks are finished with a classic wedge toe. All-over cabling creates a fun texture, while the mirrored lacy leaf panels are extra satisfying for fans of symmetry.
