Pattern with diagonal stitches. **Overlay mosaic crochet** or **Interlocking Filet crochet**, versions with a solid and with a non-solid background (resembling a waffle or mesh texture). Skill level: Advanced. This pattern includes diagonal stitches and requires close attention to detail and careful following of the written instructions or charts. This pattern can be used for a wide range of projects in different sizes. The versions with a red-to-green gradient background (a full and a square blanket) can be made either in the round from the center or worked bottom-up. The other versions are designed to be made from the bottom up only – either across the full width, or by working just the Main Panel with an optional envelope border added in the round. Yarn requirements for a full blanket (solid version, 301 stitches by 389 rows) using yarn similar to Scheepjes Stone Washed (hook size 3.25–3.5 mm): approximately 4,820 m of C1 (design) yarn, and 4,750 m of C2 (background) yarn (5,235 yds and 5,195 yds). Full size approx. 140 x 180 cm (55 x 70 inches). Hook 3.25-3.5mm Gauge 11 stitches in 5cm (2”) by 11 rows in 5cm (2”) in this pattern. Yarn requirements for a full blanket (solid version, 301 stitches by 389 rows) using yarn similar to Scheepjes Whirl, Whirlette (hook size 2.5 mm): approximately 2,900 m of C1 (design) yarn, and 2,860 m of C2 (background) yarn (3,172 yds and 3,127 yds). Full size approx. 105 x 135 cm (41¼ x 53⅛ inches). Hook 2.5mm Gauge 14½ stitches in 5 cm (2”) by 14½ rows in 5 cm (2”) in this pattern.
