The bobble circle in the center of the table runner is meant for a vase or candle to be placed in. Besides a traditional dining room table, this table runner could be used on a coffee table or side table as well. Another thought I had is that it could be used as decoration if draped over the top of a recliner or armchair. Gauge is not really all that important.
