She was the goddess of fruit trees, fruitful abundance, plenty, gardens, and orchards. Her name comes from the Latin word pomum, which means "fruit", specifically orchard fruit. The Pomona top is knitted seamlessly from the top down with an allover cable pattern and a V-neck. The top is worked beginning at the back of the neck. Stitches are then picked up for the shoulders and worked to form the front of the top. The front and back are joined at the underarm, and the body is worked in the round. The neckband and sleeve edgings are worked in double knitting.
