Lil Chickadee Chickitty

It's that time of year for all things Spring! These adorable chicks will bring so much joy to someone's day. Kitty in a chick costume! It's actually pretty low sew, too. Did I mention that the eggshell is removable?! If making a kitty in a chick suit isn't your thing, make a regular chick. It is included in the pattern and it is no sew! Whether you decide to make her in worsted weight or plush, you are going to love it! For this project I used a 5.5 mm hook and Posh for the Chickitty and she is about 9" tall standing but is really made for sitting. The oval safety eyes are 10 x 14 mm and the chick eyes on the hood are 12 mm round safety eyes. I use black mercerized cotton for the whiskers and a little bit of yellow for the nose. For the regular chick I used Okey Dokeys Chenille and a 5.5 mm hook. It is a little over 9" tall. I used 28 mm safety eyes. The size of your doll is determined by the size of your hook and the weight of your yarn. Use the size of hook comfortable for you so that the stitches are tight enough for no stuffing to show through.
