Introducing the Mockingjay Coaster – a charming and whimsical crochet pattern that’s as fun to make as it is to use! This coaster features a lacy, decorative base and has a dainty, scalloped edging. Perfect for beginners or anyone looking for a quick and satisfying project, this easy-to-follow pattern works up in no time, making it ideal for gifting or brightening up your own home. Let your crochet hook dance through the stitches and create a piece that’s both beautiful and functional! This pattern is made in DK weight yarn with a 4.5mm hook. I think a synthetic or plant fiber is best for a coaster, as you will want it to be easy care. This coaster is worked in the round featuring a lacy fabric. You end with a dainty, scalloped edging. Gauge is not crucial in such a small piece. This pattern is written for one size which should be a perfect fit for most mugs. If you find that it is too small/too large for your mug, I encourage you to experiment with another gauge or the number of rounds. This is a beginner friendly pattern, it uses basic stitches and includes a photo tutorial at the end of the written instructions.
