Mel Collar

MEL is a sister pattern of LEM knitted bottom-up. MEL is a top-down version of this playful design which features a subtle but fun colorwork design. I am a kitchen natural dyer and have only one pot for my dyeing project which results in small quantities of dyed yarns each time. I designed this collar to make the most of the limited amount of my naturally dyed yarns. **Required techniques:** knit, purl, M1L, ssk, stranded colorwork etc **Sizes and Finished Measurements:** neck circumference: approx. 36cm / 14" One size fits all, neck circumference is adjustable with snap buttons or straps. **Yarn:** Approximately 80 m / 87 yards of Sport weight yarn for MC Approximately 5 m / 5.5 yards of Fingering weight yarn each for CC1, CC2 and CC3. Approximately 2 m / 2.5 yards of Sport weight yarn for CC4. **Samples shown in:** - Saredo RE re Ly (100% recycled cotton, 280 m / 306 yards per 100 g) shade : LIGHT MOCHA - 26 g - Retrosaria Rose Pomar Vovó (100% Portugese wool, 143 m / 156 yards per 50 g) shade : 01 undyed brown - 28 g **Gauge & Needles:** 25 sts and 30 rows, using 3.25 mm / US3 needle, blocked = 10 cm / 4" in stockinette stitch. circular needle in size 3.25 mm / US3 with cable length of 80 cm / 32’’ (or needle size to obtain gauge) **Notions:** tapestry needle for weaving in ends crochet hook for provisional cast on optional for picot edge: one detachable marker optional: snap buttons ・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・ ボトムアップで編むつけ襟 LEM を編むのが楽しかったので、トップダウンでも編んでみたくなり MEL が生まれました。さりげないけれど楽しい2色の編み込み模様が特徴で遊び心あるデザインが、どんな子供にも（遊び心を忘れない全ての人に）似合います。身の周りの植物を使ってキッチンで染めた糸、 一度に少しずつしかできない糸。たくさんはないけれどとっておきの糸を生かしたくて考えたデザインです。コットンの糸で編んでよだれかけとして使うのもおすすめです。 **使う技法：** 表編み、裏編み、ねじり増し目、2色の編み込み、かけ目、右上2目一度など **サイズと仕上がり寸法：** フリーサイズ（首周り36cm、襟6-7cm） **糸：** MC：Sport / 合太 程度の太さの糸 ー 約 90 m CC1, CC2, CC3：Fingering / 中細 程度の太さの糸 ー 約5mずつ CC4：Sport / 合太 程度の太さの糸 ー 約 2 m **サンプルを編んだ糸** ( ピコットエッジ ) MC：Retrosaria Rose Pomar；Vovó（100%ポルトガル産ウール、50gあたり143m）色番 : 01 無染色茶色 ー 28 g ( フリルエッジ ) MC：されど；りりり（100%リサイクルコットン、100gあたり280m） 色番 : LIGHT MOCHA ー 26 g **ゲージと編針：** 25 目 / 30 段＝メリヤス編み、10cm四方：ブロッキング後 3.25mm ≒4号、コードの長さ80cm以上の輪針を使用 **道具：** とじ針 別鎖の作り目のためのかぎ針 オプション ( ピコットエッジ )：取り外し可能なマーカー1個 オプション：スナップボタンなどの留め具
