**Sprung rhythm**
*Sprung rhythm is an metrical system devised by innovative nineteenth-century poet, Gerard Manley Hopkins, in which a line’s irregularly stressed syllables match the dynamic rhythms of everyday speech. It's also this springy, rhythmic cowl!*
**Yarn**

Riach: 2 x 100g skeins

Above gauge-size circular needle of appropriate length
Stitch marker
Tapestry needle
**Gauge**
22 sts and 30 rounds to 10cm / 4in over twisted rib using gauge-size needles
Use 4 mm needle as a starting point for swatching.
**Size**
One size, to fit adult head / neck
The length, of both the front / back panels and the circular cowl section, is adjustable.
**Pattern notes**
This divided cowl begins by knitting two twisted-rib panels, back and forth. These two pieces are then joined, and worked in the round, following an interwoven twisted stitch pattern from a chart, which is read from right to left throughout.
