**About the pattern** The Milano Sweater is knitted top-down in one piece on 5mm needles. The neckline is worked in a twisted rib pattern (4 twisted knit, 2 twisted purl), which is doubled and knitted down. The body continues with the rib pattern (4 knit, 2 purl). The body is worked with raglan increases, simultaneously using German short rows to create a higher neckline. Raglan increases continue until the sleeve stitches are put on hold, and stitches are casted on for the sleeve gussets, all while maintaining the rib pattern. The body and sleeves are worked in the round until the split is reached. Extra stitches are picked up at the split, and the work is continued back and forth until the sweater is closed with an elastic bind-off. **Sizes:** *Note: Sizes are based on fitting various individuals. For a tighter fit, consider going down a size.* The Milano Sweater should have a negative ease of 10-15 cm compared to your bust measurement. Sizes S (M) L (XL) 2XL correspond to a bust measurement of 75-80 (85-90) 95-100 (105-110) 115-120 cm. The finished sweater has a circumference of 66 (77) 88 (100) 111 cm after washing and blocking. **Suggested Needles** 5mm circular needles in 40cm and 60 or 80cm lengths. And two 5 mm double pointed needles for the split. **Gauge** 21 stitches x 24 rows in rib stitch (4k, 2p) on 5mm needles = 10 x 10 cm. **Materials** 400-450 g (450-500 g) 550-600 (650-700) 750-800 g Alpaca Merino 100 from Landlust (50 g = 100 m). *Or* 400-450 g (500-550 g) 600-650 (700) 800 g Peer Gynt from Sandnes garn *together with* 100 g (150 g) 150 (200) 200 g Alpakka følgetråd from Sandnes garn. **Pattern** Except for the neckline and sleeves, the sweater is worked in a rib pattern (4 k, 2 p). The neckline is worked in twisted rib (4 twisted k, 2 twisted p), and the sleeves are worked in the usual rib pattern (4 k, 2 p), except for 6 knit stitches directly under the armhole. When the text refers to “knit as the pattern indicates,” it means knitting knit stitches where the stitches were knitted on the previous round and purl stitches where the stitches were purled on the previous round.
