The Kenosha Hat & [Dickie](https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/kenosha-dickie) showcase an innovative [Woven Knitting technique](https://marywmartinknits.com/woven-knitting/) creating an incredibly warm fabric from fingering weight yarns. This method uses two yarns held in a marl, simultaneously working a dense layer of cables overtop a squishy layer of garter stitch background! This hat begins with a tubular cast on and brim in a single colour. The woven motif covers the body and crown of the hat and is worked in two colours. The woven motif is created by “weaving” together cables in two colours. The stunning crown dramatically highlights the woven motif. The [tutorials](https://marywmartinknits.com/kenosha/) will guide you on your Woven Knitting journey. The 6 stitch/ 8 row repeat makes this project enjoyable and rewarding. If you plan to make both the Kenosha Dickie and Hat, start with the Hat. You will need two skeins of each colour; however, the smallest sizes of can be made with one skein of each colour by using different colours for the edges of the Dickie and the hat brim. *Yarn:* 2 colours of fingering weight yarn *Yarn Usage:* 201 (229, 257) yd/ 184 (209, 235) m of the colour that is used in the Brim; 127 (145, 162) yd/ 116 (132, 148) m of the other colour. *Listed Yarn Gauge:* 28 sts/ 36 rows to 4 in/ 10 cm *Gauge:* 19 sts/ 32 rows in stocking stitch worked flat on larger needles holding both yarns in a marl *Needles:* 3.75 mm/ US #5 & 4.5 mm/ US #7 circulars 16 in/ 40 cm length; needles for small circumference knitting in the larger needle size *Finished Hat Circumference:* 18 (20.5, 23) in/ 46 (52, 58) cm *Finished Hat Height:* 7.5 (8.5, 9.5) in/ 19 (21, 24) cm; adjustable *Recommended Yarn:* **West Yorkshire Spinners Exquisite 4 ply** 437 yd/ 100 g (400 m/ 3.5 oz); 80% Falkland Wool, 20% Mulberry Silk; 1 skein each Shown in Size A: Bordeaux 558 (MC), Knightsbridge 148 (CC & Brim) Shown in Size B: Ivy 1130 (MC & Brim), Eden 401 (CC); Ivy **ERRATA:** At the end of the Body of Hat section, the measurement before continuing to the Crown shaping is taken from the bottom of the hat.
