Learn how to turn any boring sweatshirt into a work of art by adding your own crochet sleeves! This project is a labour of love, but it is worth EVERY stitch. In this pattern, I show you step-by-step for how to prepare your sweatshirt for the best look, getting consistent and professional results every time. Once you get the hang of this process down, you will be able to easily adjust it to make other looks by simply changing up the stitch pattern, or even adding crochet sleeves to other garments like a jean jacket. **Supplies Needed** -Approx. 600-650 yds. of any size 4 worsted weight yarn (can also use sport weight) -3.75 mm, 5.0 mm, and 5.5 mm hooks -Quilting ruler and cutting mat -Rotary cutting and rotary skip blades, size 45 mm tool -Light to midweight fusible interfacing (I prefer Pellon Wonder Under, Style 805) -Iron & ironing board -Sweatshirt in size of choice -Sewing machine with matching thread (can also hand sew) -Small piece of cardboard approx. 6 inches wide -Scissors, yarn needle, tape measure, pins/clips **Terms Used & Abbreviations** Pattern is written in US terminology. Back Loop Only - BLO Chain(s) - ch(s) Double Crochet - dc Half Double Crochet - hdc Repeat - rep Right Side - RS Single Crochet - sc Skip - sk Slip stitch - sl st Space(es) - sp(s) Stitch(es) - st(s) Wrong Side - WS * - Repeat directions given from * [ ] - Indicates the number of stitches you should have ( ) - Indicates a note { } - Work stitches within { } in the same stitch or space 2tog - Indicates a decrease **Special Terminology** Invisible Slip Stitch, 3rd loop - Both are explained in great depth in the pattern and includes a video tutorial. **Gauge** With a 5.5 mm hook and regular ww yarn, 15 hdc and 9 rows = 4 inches.
