In geometry, tiling a plane means to cover a two-dimensional area with the same shape or shapes without any gaps or overlap. Born out of a desire to practice Ladder Back Jacquard method for creating a stretchy colorwork accessory with extra long floats, this cowl will keep you practicing those ladders throughout the entire pattern. Constructed in the round, you’ll have a clean, elegant, and warm neck accessory in no time! And it’s actually three patterns in one: tile your neck with cubes, hexagons, or triangles and show off your geometric style! Photo/video tutorials included. **Finished Measurements:** Circumference - 26 “ (66 cm) Height - 10.5” (26.5 cm) *These are approximate dimensions as different charts have different row counts, though none should vary more than 1” from this estimation. **Suggested Needles:** Size US 5/3.5 mm and US 6/4.0 mm 24”/60cm OR 16”/40 cm circular **Yardage Requirements:** Each pattern uses roughly the same yardage. Yarn A (ribbing): 210 yds (192 m) Yarn B (fill of shapes) : 150 yds (137 m) **Suggested Yarn:** Cube sample uses British DK by Les Garcons (273 yds (250 m)/100 g) Yarn A: Max and Moira Yarn B: Kirby’s Pink Hexagon sample uses Recollect Worsted by Farmer’s Daughter Fibers 210 yds (192 m)/100 g) and Dreamstate by Spincycle (150 yds (137m)/100 g) Yarn A: Sunny Yarn B: Shades of Earth **Gauge:** 22 sts and 28 rows for 4” by 4” square (10 cm by 10 cm) [Link to video tutorial:][1] "Ladder Back Jacquard Method - Tile Your Neck Cowl" by Christy Taylor @knittymathematician [1]: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mzzNT6S1l1c&ab_channel=ChristyTaylor
