Amulet Open Cardigan

**This pattern is part of the Winter 2025 collaboration between Pom Pom and Hobbii** **SIZES** 1 (2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9) **MEASUREMENTS** Finished chest (fullest point) circumference: 70 (73.5, 82.5, 88, 101, 113.5, 124.5, 137, 153.5)cm / 27½ (29, 32½, 34¾, 39¾, 44¾, 49, 54, 60½)" – to be worn with 10-15 cm / 4-6” positive ease. Model has a 86cm / 34” chest circumference and is wearing a size 4. This garment has been designed to be worn open (not buttoned), so it is recommended to add approx. 10-15cm / 4-6” to the finished chest circumference when selecting a size. **MATERIALS** Pom Pom x Hobbii Garland Shades: Yarn A: Oat Milk (29); 4 (5, 5, 6, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10) balls Yarn B: Pixel (34); 1 (2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 3, 3, 3) balls Yarn C: Amulet (17); 2 (2, 3, 3, 3, 3, 4, 4, 5) balls Yarn D: Chipmunk (27); 3 (4, 4, 4, 5, 5, 6, 6, 7) balls **NEEDLES** 4.5mm / US 7 circular needles, 80-100cm / 32-40” length. 4mm / US 6 circular needles, 80-100cm / 32-40” length and needles suitable for working small circumferences in the round. Always use a needle size that will result in the correct gauge after blocking. **YARN QUALITY** Garland, Hobbii x Pom Pom Worsted weight 70% Cotton, 30% Alpaca 105m / 114yd per 50 g **GAUGE** 22 sts & 30 rows = 10cm / 4" over St st on 4.5mm needles after blocking. 24 sts & 28 rows = 10cm / 4" over 1x1 stranded colourwork pattern on 4.5mm needles after blocking. **PATTERN INFORMATION** This cardigan is worked starting with the shoulder plackets, which are worked back and forth in stranded colorwork. Stitches are picked up along both plackets, casting on stitches as you go to form the back neck. Short rows are worked to shape the back, before working in Stocking stitch to the underarm. Stitches are picked up along each placket to work the fronts separately to the underarm, then the back and fronts are joined to work back and forth in stranded colorwork. A simple ribbing is worked for the waistband with a tubular cast-off. The stitches for the sleeves are picked up around the armhole and are worked in the round from the top down, with decreases. The cuffs are worked in a simple ribbing with a tubular cast-off in a contrasting colour.
