**About** While attending a wedding in Santa Rosa California, we had the chance to visit the Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve. It was a magical experience strolling among quiet of the giants of trees who have been here for a lot longer than we have and will probably be here for way longer than us. Inspired by the quiet solitude of these giants, I designed these socks to immortalize them. I especially love these very long socks to keep warm during our cold Minnesota winters. **Size and Measurements (Ball of Foot Circumference)** Baby/Toddler: 4 in/10.2 cm Toddler/Kid: 5.3 in/13.5 cm Small: 6.7 in/17 cm Medium: 8 in/20.3 cm Large: 9.3 in/23.6 cm X-Large: 10.7/27 cm XX-Large: 12 in/30.5 cm **Yarn** Knitted Wit, ”Gems DK” (75% Superwash Merino, 25% Nylon, 245 yds in 100 g) Colorway: Olympic National Park (MC) and Arches National Park (CC) OR any DK Yarn with similar yds/g **Needles and Crochet hooks** US 3/3.25mm Addi FlexiFlips Basic Double Pointed Needles (or set of double pointed needles or circular needles to use for prefer sock knitting method) OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE **Notions** row counter measuring tape stitch counters (optional) tapestry needle **Gauge** Stockinette 4"x4"/10cmx10cm Blocked: 24 sts by 32 rows These socks are constructed toe up with a circular cast on and round toe construction. The heel is constructed using shadow wrap technique. The main stitch pattern for the sock is a seeded ribbing to represent the tall tree trunks of the tree. There are two cuff options. The main cuff is made through seeded ribbing. Instructions to construct a heel tab are included. You can substitute your favorite toe, heel, or cuff construction as you desire. A sock worksheet is included at the end to help with sock measurements.
