My Favourite Things Dishcloth

This is the January design for the 2025 Year of Dishcloths. The theme for this year is songs and music from some of my favourite movies and musicals! The inspiration for the first design, My Favourite Things Dishcloth, is indeed one of my all time favourite movies/show, The Sound of Music. I grew up watching this movie and have seen it on stage as well. The soundtrack is often on my turntable and I think I might know the words to all of the songs off by heart lol! I chose a hot pink cotton yarn (Estelle Sudz of course!), inspired by Maria’s dress on the album cover, and the scalloped edges of the dishcloth design remind me of the rolling hills on the album cover too. The pattern is a simple lace design that you will have memorized in no time!  I look forward to knitting along with you again this year and sharing some of my favourite shows, songs and soundtracks with you along the way!
