The Marina Washcloth is a crochet pattern for a washcloth.
This washcloth includes two bands of single crochet and a middle section with a fun advanced beginner stitch pattern. It is a quick project that makes a nice gift.
The pattern includes written instructions using standard United States crochet terminology. It has been tech-edited and tested.
SIZING AND GAUGE
Finished Measurements: 9.25” x 9.25”
Gauge: 14 pattern rows x 15 sts = 4” x 4” (10cm x 10cm); exact gauge is not critical.
CROCHET SUPPLIES NEEDED
Yarn: Worsted weight (#4) cotton in two colors of choice. Approximately 80 yards total (20 yards of Yarn A and 60 yards of Yarn B).
Sample Project Yarn:
Loops & Threads Classic Cotton (100% cotton), 120yd[109m]/2.5oz[70.9g]: Yarn A #27014 (Midnight Blue) 2/7 skein, Yarn B #27015 (Chambray) 1/2 skein.
Hook: Size H/8 (5.00 mm) or size need to obtain gauge.
Notions: Tapestry needle, tape measure, 2 optional stitch markers.
STITCH KEY
beg = beginning
ch(s) = chain(s)
dc = double crochet
rep = repeat
sc = single crochet
st(s) = stitch(es)
( ) = work a group of stitches all in the same stitch or space; also used at the end of a row to indicate the stitch count for that row
* = rep the sts from the asterisk
Special Stitch Abbreviations, Instructions, and Tutorial:
stdc: stacked double crochet: start a new row without a turning chain, insert hook into first st and make a sc, then insert hook under two loops on the left-hand side of the sc and make another sc – stacked double crochet completed
NOTES
* Work the base chain loosely.
* Placing markers on the edge stitches is recommended. Move these markers up as you go along.
