**January.** The long, dark nights when the sparkle of Christmas has passed. Spring feels too far away to imagine yet, but walks in the cold city streets are warmed with favourite knits and lights from windows. These patterns embody the cosiness of walking past lit windows, comfy hats and scarves and mittens on strings. **Year By Piece 2025** The Year By Piece 2025 Mystery Knit Along is a project designed for you to 'knit the year', with four new patterns each month to turn into a blanket. Each design will be released at the start of the month, and use the core palette included in the images. **Yarn** I recommend using Cascade 220 yarn, however this pattern works really well with any Aran or DK yarn, and could be adapted to make a smaller throw if using fingering weight. The palette is a suggestion only, and this would be a great stash-busting project. **Quantities** My version uses the following: Cascade 220 Navy. 45g. 23m/75ft Cascade 220 Camellia. 9g. 5m/16ft Cascade 220 Golden Kiwi. 10g. 5m/16ft Cascade 220 Duck Egg. 30g. 15m/16ft Cascade 220 Fern. 9g. 5m/16ft
