The Leas Mitten Pattern ~ The Leas Mitten Pattern is a pair of classic cabled mittens that are worked from the bottom up. They have a folded cuff with 1x1 ribbing and beautiful texture that features two different styles of cables on the body. This is a one size that fits most adult ladies with instructions on how to adjust the length for a perfect fit. Sizes: O/S - one size Measurements: Width: 4.5” [11cm] measured at the widest point of the body flat Length: 10.75” [27cm] from cast on edge to the top of the mitten unfolded Gauge: 20 sts x 28 rounds = 4 x 4” [10 x 10cm] in stockinette stitch on US 7, 4.5mm needles Work in stockinette stitch until gauge swatch measures at least 4 x 4” [10 x 10cm]. Needle Size: US 7, 4.5mm DPNs for the body and top of mitten shaping US 6, 4mm DPNs for the cuff Yarn: DK Weight - Filcolana Peruvian Highland Wool in color 101 109yds / 100m / 50g per skein 160yds / 145m / 70g held together with Lace Weight - Filcolana Tilia in color 100 230yds / 210m / 25g per skein 160yds / 145m / 20g These mittens are worked holding one strand of DK weight together with one strand of Lace weight. Or you could substitute the 2 strands of yarn for 1 strand of a worsted weight yarn so long as gauge can be met.
