Stargazer is my next sock pattern with stranded colorwork. This time I decided that the color will play the leading role. I combined a basic natural-colored yarn with a gradient yarn. The final effect exceeded my wildest expectations.
**Sizes**
{ 1, 2, 3 }
Finished foot circumference, unstretched: { 17.2, 19.5, 21.6 } cm / { 6.9, 7.75, 8.6 } ”
**Yarn**
For a pair of socks you will need any sock yarn in fingering weight in two colors.
About 50-65 g of MC yarn and 30-40 g of CC yarn (400-420 m / 437-459 y per 100g).
Sample socks were knit in size “3” for a foot length about 27 cm/ 10.75 ” long (size EU41). I’ve used Scheepjes Arcadia (75% wool, 25% nylon, 396 m/ 433 y per 100g) in color “Pampas” for MC and Schoppel-Wolle Zauberball (75% wool, 25% nylon, 420 m/ 459 y per 100g) in color “Fuschienbeet” for CC.
Note: The yardage is estimated and depends on sock length.
**Needles**
2.5 mm / US #1.5 circular needles for magic loop or DPNS, or size needed to get the proper gauge;
2.0 mm / US #0 circular needles for magic loop or DPNS, or two sizes smaller than the gauge needles;
2.25 mm / US #1 circular needles for magic loop or DPNS, or one size smaller than the gauge needles.
**Additional materials**
stitch markers - locking and regular, row counter, tapestry needle for weaving ends.
**Gauge**
36 sts and 36 rounds = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4 “ - in stranded colorwork pattern worked in the round with 2.5 mm / US #1.5 needles.
34 sts and 46 rounds = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4 “ - in stockinette stitch pattern worked in the round with 2.25 mm / US #1 needles, after wet blocking.
Note: Measure the gauge after washing and blocking the swatch – the swatch should be worked in the round. If necessary, adjust the needle size to get the proper gauge.

**Rozmiary**
{ 1, 2, 3 }
Obwód nierozciągniętej skarpety w stopie: { 17.2, 19.5, 21.6 } cm.
