The Soft Hug Interlace Scarf is a pull-on style that functions like a cowl, but looks like a scarf. It will not unwrap and fall off while you are wearing it! Ends are interlaced and sewn in place at the end. Turning CH does NOT count as a stitch. Pattern can be adjusted for different sizes by working the specified number of FHDC or CH STS in Row 1. Sizes are written small (medium, large). Row 1 length = 30-31 inch (32-33 inch, 34-35 inch). You may add or subtract a few FHDC to achieve length without affecting the remainder of the pattern. Row 11 is optional depending on the yarn you use, desired width and fit. The scarf width should be between 5 and 6 inches. When working into CH STS, insert hook into back bump to create a cleaner look. Make sure CH STS are not twisted. Pattern uses different hook sizes for CH STS so it's easier to work into them in the next row. If you are a tight crocheter, moving up to a bigger hook size will give the scarf a nicer drape. Yarn weights can vary greatly and affect the gauge so I have included a photo with approximate measurements (Photo G). Using a double strand of #4 weight yarn may also work to achieve gauge.
