Retro Gamer socks

This pattern is included in Joyful Colorwork Socks: 25 New Knitting Patterns for Fun & Whimsical Footwear Featuring Pets, Games, Food, Hobbies & More which was published in November 2024. Available as a book or ebook in most book stores. I designed these Retro Gamer socks in homage to the old games that I used to love playing in the ’90s. I loved their bold, simple graphics (they look so good on a pair of socks too!). I like to show my love of gaming through my socks. These socks are perfect for any gaming fanatics in your life! These socks are knit from the top down. Knit with only two colors per round, this sock has a repeating gaming motif that starts from the top of the leg and repeats throughout the foot. The socks start with a ribbed cuff and feature a short row heel. Stitches are decreased for the toe and then grafted together Sizing 1 (2, 3) To fit (foot circumference): 8 (9½, 10¾) inches / 19–21 (22.5–24.5, 26–28) cm Finished circumference: 7 (8½, 9¾) inches / 17.5 (21, 25) cm Yarn Fingering weight, Retrosaria Mondim (100% non-superwash fine Portuguese wool), 421 yds (385 m) per 100-g skein Shown in MC: Navy 105 (1 skein) CC: 3 g for each set of gaming motifs from yarn leftovers in red, pink, teal, yellow, purple, orange, white, turquoise and green Any fingering-weight sock yarn can be used for this sock pattern as long as you can obtain the same gauge.
