*Inspired by my family tradition of hanging fairy lights at home to welcome Christmas, Lumina, which means “light” in Latin, captures the warmth and twinkling charm of lights and a relaxing atmosphere that embodies the joy of Christmas.* Designed by Yamagara in collaboration with Qing Fibre for Advent 2024. **[Lumina Scarf KAL][1] will be held in Yamagara Knits Ravelry Group from 10 March - 30 June 2025. ** **YARN** **Y1** Qing Fibre Merino Fingering Mini (80 m / 87 yards per 20 g skein, 100% superwash merino wool) 3 skeins of C1 2 skeins of C2 2 skeins of C3 2 skeins of C4 3 skeins of C5 Or a total of 960 m / 1050 yards of fingering weight yarn **Y2** (sequin yarn) King Cole Cosmos (393 m / 429 yards per 25 g, 76% glitter thread, 24% Payette) Colourway: Orbit One 8 g mini skein Or 126 m / 140 yards of light fingering novelty yarn with sequins Alternative to sequin yarn Any lace or light fingering weight yarn that matches the gauge when paired with Y1 and worked in Stripe Pattern is a good alternative. **Y3** (mohair yarn) Qingfibre Kid Mohair Silk Mini (210 m / 229 yards per 25 g skein, 70% ultra fine kid mohair, 30% silk) Colourway: C6 1 skein Or 105 m / 115 yards of lace weight kid mohair and silk yarn **NEEDLES** One 3.25 mm / US 3, 40 cm / 16” circular needle One 3.5 mm / US 4, 40 cm / 16” circular needle Two 4 mm / US 6, 40 cm / 16” or longer circular needles One spare 4 mm US 6 needle for 3-needle bind off **FINISHED MEASUREMENTS** Width 18 cm / 7” Length 205 cm / 80¾” **NOTIONS** Stitch marker, tapestry needle, scale for weighing yarn. **NOTES** Lumina Scarf is firstly worked flat lengthwise before joining the work to form a tube. The scarf is then worked in the round, blending transitions in colourways. Lastly, knitted flowers (video tutorial is provided) are sewn onto the scarf.
