Nightmare Baby Backpack

Thank you so much for checking out my plushie backpack! This intermediate-level pattern includes instructions for the plushie backpack and the regular plushie versions of the nightmare baby. This is a low-sew pattern! The arms, straps, and head are the only pieces needing attachment. This design also features an optional leg-kick mechanism using an air pump for those who want to add a little interactive fun! The backpack uses a premade, 7x9-inch drawstring liner, but those with sewing skills can make their own liner. If you’re making a kicking backpack, I highly recommend using the specified yarn or an equivalent to make sure the sizing is right. Mine measures about 16 in. tall and 7 inches wide, not including the arms. This pattern is written in US terms and is worked mostly in the round. The straps are "made to fit.” Supplies: Yarn Bernat Blanket- 1 skein each skin (birch), shoe, hat & glove color (taupe), pants (black) Bernat Blanket- less than half a skein of shirt & straps- (crimson & smokey green) worsted acrylic- small amount for blades gray 6.5 & 3.25 mm hooks 30 mm safety eyes (for Bernat blanket yarn, adjust for other yarn weights) 7x9 inch cotton canvas drawstring bag for the liner (or sew your own) optional-2 4x4 inch squares of plastic mesh canvas (placed in the sole of the shoe to keep it flat) e6000/hot glue Kicky leg supplies- 2 air bag pumps, mini duct tape blunt-tipped needle for sewing scissors poly-fil other helpful items: stitch markers, sewing pins (to pin pieces in place before sewing), and something to poke holes through the liner (you can carefully cut small holes with scissors or even use a hole punch).
