**SKILL LEVEL:** Intermediate. **NOTES** This dropped-shoulder, cropped, knit jacket is worked in pieces. It features a tuck-stitch pattern on the body, which is worked bottom up, with garter stitch on the sleeves, which are worked top down, and garter on the button band. The design includes pockets, button bands with snaps, and a high, folded collar. **HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR SIZE** This pattern has **9 size options**. Using the recipients chest measurement, choose a size that will give around **10 inches (25.5cm) of positive ease at bust** (the difference between body’s smaller measurements and the garment’s larger measurements at this point). The most fool-proof method is to measure a similar fitting garment in your wardrobe and choose a size that matches. Photos shown in Size 3 with 11 inches (28cm) of positive ease. See schematic in photos. **GAUGE** in 4 inches (10cm) after blocking Garter St, worked flat: 13 sts by 26 rows. Bud St, worked flat: 12 sts by 13.5 rows. St St, for pocket liner: 13 sts by 17 rows. **YARN** * 8, 8, 9 || 10, 11, 12 || 12, 13, 15 hanks in of Mule Spinner 3 Ply by Custom Woolen Mills (100% wool, 141 yds / 129m , 112g), colour 01, * or 1030, 1117, 1203 || 1289, 1476, 1596 || 1662, 1778, 2028 yds (942, 1021, 1100 || 1179, 1350, 1459 || 1520, 1626, 1854m) of substitute bulky-weight, 100% wool yarn. **NEEDLES** Ribbing and buttonband: 6mm (US 10). Main, for all other portions of the garment: 6.5mm (US 10.5). These are suggested sizes; adjust needles as required to obtain gauge. **CIRCULAR CORD LENGTHS** - increase cord length as needed. Short: 16 inch (40cm) for working small stitch counts flat. Long: 30 inch (75cm) cord for working small circumference in magic loop and large stitch counts in the rnd, or choose your preferred methods. **NOTIONS** Scissors, scrap yarn or st holders, tapestry needle, stitch markers (4), 6 pairs of 1⅛ inch (3cm) extra-large snaps. **SPECIAL TECHNIQUES** Tuck stitches, seaming, grafting live stitches.
