Vintage Vibe Purse

This purse has a vintage vibe. It works up quickly with 200 yards of DK weight yarn and a size H (5mm) crochet hook. Finished size was 15" across the bottom x 9" tall (not including handles) and 16" around top opening. The purse begins with an octagonal shaped piece worked in the round. Then the sides are seamed and the top is worked in the round along two sides of the original piece. A tab closure (optional) can be added as you work the top edge or work it plain and add a zipper, snaps or velcro to close the top. The handle is made separately and sewn on the top of the bag. Two ways of making the handle are given. Information has been added on how to add a lining to the bag, if desired, using a fat quarter of fabric.
