Indy top

If you want to crochet a top that’s pretty, but different, the Indy top might be what you would reach for. The stitch pattern that makes up the fabric is elegant, and combined with the unique strap details and the button front, the top has a modern and special look. The Indy top is crocheted to fit your own body measurements. Make it tight or loose; long or cropped. Add waist shaping if you want to enhance your curves. The pattern guides you to make your top have the fit you desire. Further personalize your Indy top by choosing a color theme that suits you. It’s easy being indie in the Indy top! The top is crocheted sideways, beginning with creating the straps, and then adding the panels to the straps. The top is seamed at the sides and at the back. The front is closed with buttons. **Language** English (US terminology) **Skill level** Intermediate This pattern requires you to take your own body measurements. It is useful to have experience with crocheting tops or sweaters. **Sizes** This top can be made in any size. The pattern is a made-to-measure pattern / recipe style pattern. **Worksheet** There is a worksheet included with the pattern, which guides you to take all necessary body measurements, and it explains how to perform all necessary calculations. The worksheet is laid out in MS Excel and the calculations are automatic if you enter all numbers into Excel. There is a PDF-copy of the worksheet included as well, making it possible to work through the pattern without MS Excel too. **Materials** YARN Any yarn from one of the below categories 1 : SUPERFINE (Sock, Fingering) 2 : FINE (Sport) 3 : LIGHT (DK, Light Worsted) 4 : MEDIUM (Worsted, Aran) The pattern describes using 3 colors (as used for the pattern sample), but feel free to use any number of colors for your own color work. HOOK Use any size hook that goes with your yarn PATTERN SAMPLE USES *The pattern sample is the teal colored top, with black and white straps.* Yarn: category 2 (sport) Catania, from Schachenmayr. 100% combed and mercerized cotton. 125 m/50 g (137 yd/1.76 oz). Hook: size 3.25 mm (US 3/D) hook YARN AMOUNTS The amount of yarn needed will depend on yarn weight and the size of the top made.
