*Knit in woollen spun fingering-weight yarn for a light and warm layer, this cowl explores different textured stitch patterns. It is larger at the bottom to provide coverage over the upper chest then narrows to ensure it sits high around the neck for maximum warmth and wind protection.* *Named after the Lammermoor Range which is situated west of Dunedin in Otago, Aotearoa NZ.* ##Materials * Vintage Purls TannaHill (100% New Zealand Merino, 396 metres per 100g skein), 1 skein. *The model used about 75g of yarn. TannaHill is a fingering-weight (4ply) woollen spun yarn. Its meterage per skein is higher than some yarns of the same thickness, please consider this when using other yarns (use the meterage specifications, rather than the skein weight when planning your substitutions).* * 3.25mm, 60cm circular needle or size that gives you gauge. * A stitch marker. ##Gauge 26 stitches and 40 rows in 10cm (4”) in blocked stocking stitch. *Gauge is not essential for this item to fit but failure to match gauge will afford different aesthetic results and may use more yarn than specified.* ##Size This should fit most adults well. At its narrowest the circumference is about 58cm/23” around and it will stretch over the head if necessary. The wider bottom edge is about 77cm/30” in circumference. ##Yarn Considerations The texture in this design shows best in solid or semi-solid colours. Very dark shades and variegated colours will hide much of the detail.
